ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department consists of One Associate Professor & HOD, One Assistant Professor. The Department has One Doctorate.The laboratory is managed by one Senior Lab assistant and one attender. The Laboratory has a separate LPG gas room and a chemical store room. It is equipped with sophisticated and technically advanced instruments such as: Digital electronic balance, Spectrophotometer, Potentiometers, Conductometers, Flame Photometer and TDS meter in sufficient numbers as prescribed by the Anna University. The department is equipped with "Deionizer" to produce deionized water required for Chemistry, Civil Engineering and Transport Departments.

MISSION
Our mission is to make students apply the enterprise of chemistry to engineering materials, processes and problems with exposure to latest developments having concern to the environment and society.
CHEMISTRY LABORATORY
The Laboratory is equipped with sufficient number of equipments as prescribed by Anna University, Chennai to do Practical's in Volumetry, Conductometry, and Potentiometry. The experiments related to determination of hardness and alkalinity of water, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), and percentage of metals in alloys are carried out.
Modern equipments like Flame photometer and Spectrophotometer are added to the laboratory. There is a separate room that houses chemicals, apparatus and equipments.
