K.L.N. College OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY is the first engineering College of Information Technology in Madurai, started in 2001 by the munificence of philanthropists and well-wishers in the Sourashtra community, which is a linguistic minority in Tamil Nadu.

The Research & Development cell was constituted in the Academic year 2011-2012 with senior faculties from each Department. The research & Development cell supports pure research, applied research and day to day development research which concentrates on time management, funding and awarding.
